MEDICAL EXAMINER INVESTIGATOR (On-Call)
Chickasaw County is accepting applications for an on-call Medical Examiner Investigator to investigate sudden, unexpected, unattended, suspicious, or unnatural deaths.
Preferred Knowledge:
Human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, forensic pathology, police and forensic science, pharmacology, and emergency medical services.
Qualifications:
Three (3) years experience as a licensed EMT and/or licensed nurse or EMT/Paramedic, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must hold a valid EMT/Paramedic or nursing license and a valid driver’s license. Ability to respond on a non-typical/on-call basis required.
Certification:
Must obtain State of Iowa Medical Examiner certification within two (2) years. Appointment subject to approval by the Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors and the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
